"Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." (Joshua 1:9)
In a world filled with uncertainty, fear can often creep into our hearts, holding us back from the very things God calls us to do. But as believers, we are reminded time and again that we are not alone. God, in His infinite love and wisdom, promises to be with us always.
Our Heavenly Father does not desire for His children to be shackled by fear. He understands that fear can act as a powerful deterrent, preventing us from stepping out in faith and obedience. We may fear the judgment of others, the unknowns of the future, or the challenges that lie before us. However, God's promise in Hebrews 13:5-6 echoes through the ages: He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Just as the psalmist declared, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee" (Psalm 56:3), we too must learn to anchor our hearts in God's unwavering presence. When fear threatens to overwhelm us, we must remind ourselves that the all-powerful, protective, and wise God is by our side. His presence is our shield, our comfort, and our strength.
Let the comforting truth of God's constant presence wash over you, dispelling the darkness of fear and filling you with courage.
Reflections:
» In what ways does fear keep me from obeying God?
» When I am afraid of certain people or situations, how can I remind myself that God is with me?
