ABOUT AGAPE CHURCH
Welcome to Agape Church!
Agape Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-based, local church in the Northern Virginia, Greater Washington DC & Greater Baltimore area. Our purpose is to be obedient to God's Word, based on the principles of the New Testament, to continue steadfastly in apostle's doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread and in prayers (Acts 2:42).
Agape Church caters to the well being of the total person-body, soul and spirit (I Thessalonians 5:23 and III John 2). It is a family church that ministers to adults, youth and children. There are special activities for the college and career group. The activities and services of Agape Church are open to all who are interested in attending and/or participating. It welcomes people of all walks of life, regardless of color, nationality, language, gender, etc. (Revelation 7:9).

Statement of Faith
We believe the Holy Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and final authority of God's Word, sufficient for all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, coequal and coeternal, working in perfect unity for the salvation of mankind.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven.

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, based on His atoning death and bodily resurrection.
​
We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as a public testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes our union with His death, burial, and resurrection and is an act of obedience following salvation.
We believe that the local church is the primary expression of the body of Christ, where believers gather regularly for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and the proclamation of the Gospel.

We believe in the priesthood of all believers, where both men and women are equally precious before God and gifted by the Holy Spirit for service, while affirming that the office of pastor is reserved for qualified men as taught in Scripture.

We believe that the Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience, regularly practiced by believers in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice and in anticipation of His return.

We believe in the visible, personal, and imminent return of Jesus Christ to gather His Church and judge the living and the dead.

We believe that every believer is called to personal evangelism and making disciples, both locally and globally, to fulfill the Great Commission.
